Baby Brilliance

I have bragging rights. My little fella is a sure genius! Not quite two, he counted to five on Monday all by himself! Well, almost.

To make the diaper changing experience easier (we're in that I-don't-want-my-diaper-changed-no-matter-how-messy-it-is phase), I play counting games with Wesley. Laying him on the diaper is one, straigtening it is two, pulling it up between his legs is three, fastening one side is four, and fastening the other side is five. I counted one, I counted two, and then Wesley said "tree," and I, in my surprise, said three right back. He said, "four," and I repeated it with great pleasure; then he said, "fie." I couldn't help but feel overwhelming pride, and he and I laughed and giggled as I finished dressing him. Then we returned to our outdoor play (68 degrees - the first time in 3 months!!!!) to celebrate.

Wesley has always been observant, both with his seeing and his hearing. All geniuses are observant. My baby is brilliant. Nothing more to say.
